All complaints, except those regarding the
Library Director,
must be brought to the attention of the Library Director.
- For
complaints about materials in the collection, the complainant is to be
referred
to the Library’s Collection Development Policy.
- Anonymous
complaints will not be considered.
- Full
details of the complaint must be provided, including date, time, name
of the
employee (if applicable), and desired resolution.
- If
the complainant is not satisfied with the resolution proposed by the
Library
Director, her/his complaint may then be directed to the Library Board.
All complaints to the Library Board,
including any
concerning the Library Director, must be in writing and must include
the
complainant’s full name and address.
- Full
details of the complaint must be provided, including date, time, name
of the
employee (if applicable), and desired resolution.
- Such
complaints will be distributed to the Library Board and placed on the
next
meeting agenda. (Written complaints
received after the agenda has been set will be placed on the agenda for
the
following month.)
- The
complainant will be notified in writing by the Board President of the
meeting
date at which her/his complaint will be discussed and will be invited
to attend
the meeting
- A
written response to the complainant will be made by the Board President
no
later than ten working days after the meeting at which the complaint
was
discussed.
